First, my personal story of Sapna. I knew her through her brother and my good friend Dhru. At some point she started chatting with me and we hit it off. I don’t know what is in the water this family drinks but they’re all inspirational and motivational. Over the years I remember helping Saps set up her gmail/youtube and give her tips on colour coordinating for websites and all. The more I got to know her the more I would find out about her doing 2 degrees, Psychology at USIU 9am to 3pm and Law at Nairobi University 5.30 to 8.30pm. What I didn’t know was the grind she had to put in doing them simultaneously. The book covers this.
The grind her mom went through, how her carer, Alice, was always by her side. The beautiful friends she met along her way. We would chat a lot and there were times we’d have to check each other to get back on track. How her dad and bro were such big inspirations to her.
Part of me was so happy to know much more about her life and how she lived to the fullest. Part of me was melancholic because she is not with us anymore and the challenges her and the people around her would face because of Muscular Dystrophy. Her’s was Spinal Muscular Atrophy and the poem at the end of the book nails it on the head. She shares a few poems but that last one was the deepest, most heartbreaking and most uplifting all in one.

She talks about how she was saved by Jesus Christ just like my mom and how people around her didn’t understand. I’m sure she’s walking and doing everything she wanted but couldn’t with Jesus now.
There are so many stories of triumph and I’d like to give a standing ovation to her team, her family, her carer, the friends that helps her in all the many things she did from singing, modelling, travelling, partying and so much more. Oh and speaking of singing, when I first spoke to her I was like wow, she had such a beautiful voice. I’ve included a link below where you can hear her sing.
The book ends with tributes from people on her passing and also had tribute from our headmaster from primary school.
