Quick story. I never really celebrated a proper Christmas until I was in my early to mid 20s and enjoyed it with the company I had. It was good because it was just 1 to 3 nights in a row. The main feast would be one night. The rest would with loved ones where there wasn’t any pressure to do everything christmassy. After moving to Australia it doesn’t feel like Christmas. It has become a drain of money, time, energy, etc. All in the name of consumerism, customised packaging designed to go straight to the landfill, gluttony and everything else that comes with it. As soon as Halloween ends, the shops and the sheep get into it weeks before. It’s become a not so good time for myself. I’m just glad to know a lot of people are on the same boat.
