David Attenborough takes you on beautiful journeys and the way he connects each mammal is wicked. He starts in Aussi with the platypus and the Echidna’s which look like hedgehogs/porcupines. The only two egg laying mammals. For a few minutes he explores how it would have been a million years back. Then its over to a kangaroo giving birth. Damn the baby looks like… smaller than a thumb man! And it has to find its own way to mama’s pouch.
Next up is koalas… lol they love their eucalyptus (gum tree leaves) right… but the leaves aint got much nourishment so they be eating that all the time. Over to wombat and … did he say numbats? Anyway these numbat things have long tongues that I cant best describe as ‘lingus’! The honey possum on the other hand has developed a brush at the end of his licker. The mountain pigmy possum and striped possum are next in line.
Back to kangaroos (wallaroos and wallabies). Note: Roos remind me of Scooby Doo… if only there was a Shaggy, at the end of their hop, to complete the picture. Wait a minute, I think dude used this same clip in the last Planet Earth episode! Oh well. 3 Grey kangaroos kickbox to get some a55 and spread the family name. Whoa thought they levitated for a sec there… they use their tail when kicking.

Moving on to South America and the first time filming of a yapok/water opossum in its natural environment. Then the woolly opossum. Africa is up next… ew how’d they get a shot of a wildebeests placenta? Ok the birth is traumatic for mom and baby but its damn funny. Note: Placenta looks like elephant sized condom. Final note: The start and end have some wicked shots e.g. squirrel’s fighting and the gang of dolphins attacking the shore together to catch the birds on land.
